Our Story

We believe that every child deserves to feel special every day but especially on their birthday. For years we have participated in Angel Tree like events and donated gifts to a child or a family. We drop off our wrapped gifts and we hope that the gifts make someone smile but ultimately we go on with our lives until the next Christmas and the next Angel Tree. This year I realized that we  should do more. I went to my husband with an idea to start a nonprofit that would celebrate each child on their special day and he was all in. We have established Beatrice’s Gift to assist families and children who are struggling financially with whatever they need to celebrate a child’s  birthday.

Beatrice’s Gift is named for my Grandmother, Beatrice Walsh Bauman, who always made me feel special. As soon as you walked in her door you’d find yourself sitting in the kitchen with a warm plate of food or my favorite, a chocolate malted. Every gift she gave someone came straight from the heart whether it be a homemade birthday cake or a handmade quilt. Whenever I picture her in my mind I never see her sitting down, she was always up doing things for others.
